About RENEW NYRenewable Energy Network of Entrepreneurs in Western New York (RENEW NY) is dedicated to helping early stage renewable energy companies start and grow in the western portion of New York State.

- Matchmaking entrepreneurs with risk capital sources
- Assistance with grants and awards
- Coaching and mentoring

- Raising awareness of renewable energy companies located in western NY
RENEW NY was formed in May of 2004 based on a contract with New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).
Companies in western NY eligible for services include:
- < 5 years old
- Startups or new divisions of larger companies
- Providing renewable energy products or services, including but not limited to:
- Solar electric generation and thermal systems
- Wind electric generation systems
- Geothermal heating and cooling
- Biomass fuels
- Hydrogen reformation and fuel cells
- Subsystems or components of these systems
The RENEW NY team includes:
- NYSERDA - Sponsor
- High Tech Rochester Inc. - Project Lead and business incubation services.
- Greater Rochester Enterprise - Marketing, project management, and outreach.
- Rochester Institute of Technology - Physical space for RENEW NY offices, and technical support from the Center for Integrated Manufacturing Studies (CIMS).
- Ennovasion Group - RENEW NY Director.
The geography covered by RENEW NY includes a north/south line roughly bounded by Potsdam, Watertown, Syracuse, Binghamton to the east, and all NY State companies west including Rochester, Niagara Falls, Buffalo, Jamestown, and the southern tier.
